Box Office Representative
The Astor Theatre Society is looking for an outstanding Part-Time Box Office Representative to join our Team
JOB ROLE
Reporting to the Theatre Manager, the Box Office Representative is responsible for providing all patrons, rental clients, volunteers, and members of the public with an informative and friendly customer service experience at the Astor Theatre. In addition to box office duties, the successful candidate will also provide administrative support for the Astor Theatre.
AN OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION:
- Provide customer service to all patrons of the Astor Theatre
- Process telephone and in-person ticket orders
- Maintain an accurate float count and complete accurate cash-out procedures and reports at the end of shift
- Respond to patron inquiries about the theatre
- Process transactions for live events, movies, workshops, camp, programs, art shop, and gallery on our POS system
- Keep marketing displays up to date according to event schedule
- Ensure all promotional materials in the lobby are up-to-date, adequately stocked, and neatly displayed
- Provide reception services, including receiving visitors and deliveries to the theatre
- Work with Ticketpro and the online Ticketpro system to set up events and sell tickets
- Assist with scheduling of events and administrative duties associated with events
- Update social media and theatre newsletter
- Design posters for upcoming events
- Run movies, including use of the projector and concession sales
- Set up rooms for meetings and events
- Keep track of inventory for Box Office, Concessions, and Art Shop
- Other office duties as required and as needed by the Theatre Manager
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Administration is an asset
- 2-5 years of experience working in customer service
- Problem-Solving: Quickly addressing issues and adapting to unforeseen challenges during events
- Computer skills – proficient with Microsoft Office 365: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Google Workplace, Social Media & YouTube
- Technical Proficiency: Understanding of theatre equipment, lighting, sound systems, POS, TicketPro and other technical aspects of theatre operations would be considered an asset
- Flexibility to work all shifts
- Safety Awareness
- Interest in arts, culture and film.
Approximately 20 hours per week. $18-$20 per hour depending on experience.
