Merle Haggard, “The Poet of The Common Man” is widely considered to be one of the most important singer-songwriters in the history of country music. During a career that spanned from the 1960s until his death in 2016, he recorded more than 70 albums, and had more than 40 number #1 hit songs. Merle says, “Country music is about all of those things that we believe in, but we can’t see – like dreams, and songs, and souls.”
Lawrence Maxwell is a PEI born singer-songwriter, who is a multiple PEI Music award-winner, and ECMA nominee with three studio albums under his belt. He has toured internationally in the UK and across Europe. His band of Fugitives consists of the finest musicians. Together they pay tribute to Merle Haggard in a must-see compelling and memorable performance, of some of his greatest songs.
