E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), directed by Steven Spielberg, tells the story of a lonely 10-year-old boy named Elliott who befriends a gentle alien stranded on Earth. Elliott, his older brother Michael, and little sister Gertie hide the extraterrestrial in their suburban home, forming a deep emotional and telepathic bond with him.
In celebration of 30 years of Queens County, The Stanfields are coming to the Astor Stage! The Stanfields are a multiple award-winning six-piece Folk'n'Roll band based in Halifax, Canada. Combining Rock music with solid nods to Celtic and Americana, they play what they want, sing what they feel, and leave nothing on the table.

Stop-Motion Club started in 2024 by Desmond Smyth, a local high school student who had an interest in Stop-Motion when he was younger and wanted to teach the younger generation about this animation form.
Our club has expanded, not only teaching stop-motion animation but 2D frame-by-frame hand-drawn-style animation, green screen animation, and frame-by-frame pivot-stick-figure-style techniques all using your cellphone or tablet.

Filmmaking Club was started by Kyle Smyth in 2024. We were very excited to have Dan Williams join us soon afterwards. Our club members make original short films and take their projects from screenwriting, editing, production planning, cinematography, directing, and editing to get them to the final product.
Twenty Years of the Met in Cinemas is a celebration of the Met’s two decades of onstage glory as experienced in movie theatres, featuring highlights from the company’s collection of more than 185 extraordinary onscreen performances.
Hosted by star soprano Renée Fleming, this special presentation will showcase unforgettable moments from some of opera’s greatest stars, culled from the series’ vast archive of transmissions, featuring such remarkable artists as Lise Davidsen, Natalie Dessay, Joyce DiDonato, Elīna Garanča, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jonas Kaufmann, Peter Mattei, Matthew Polenzani, Nadine Sierra, and, of course, Fleming herself.
A modern indie folk trio from Newfoundland, The Once have collected a trio of Canadian Folk Music Awards, numerous ECMA awards, and was named Artist of the Year by the Newfoundland & Labrador Arts Council. They have earned not one, but two JUNO nominations for Roots Album of the Year and continue to take their music around the world.
Participants will learn to stamp and colour metal, then use rivets to cold connect the pieces together. This is a 16+ ages workshop.
RUN TERRY RUN delivers an intimate, entirely archival look at Terry Fox's legendary 1980 Marathon of Hope. Utilizing over 90 restored reels of long-lost 16mm raw footage and pristine, untouched audio tapes, the documentary foregoes modern "talking head" interviews. Instead, it uses real-time dialogue from Terry, his brother Darrell, and friend Doug Alward to reveal the true gritty determination and deeply human side of the 21-year-old Canadian icon as he united a nation.
